A Beechcraft B200 Super King Air medical jet operated by Zeusch Aviation crashed moments after takeoff from London Southend Airport on July 13, 2025. All four individuals on board—the Dutch pilot and co-pilot, a German doctor, and a Chilean nurse—tragically lost their lives in the incident. The aircraft was engulfed in flames upon impact, resulting in a massive fireball that was witnessed by bystanders.
The plane had previously flown from Athens to Pula, Croatia, before arriving at Southend, and was en route to Lelystad, Netherlands, at the time of the crash. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) in collaboration with Essex Police and other authorities.
As a result of the crash, London Southend Airport remains closed, with flights canceled or diverted to other airports. An air exclusion zone has been established around the crash site as investigators continue their work.
This tragic event has deeply affected the local community and the aviation industry, highlighting the risks associated with air travel and the importance of thorough investigations to prevent future incidents.
