Mr. Sanku Comedy, a popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, has died following a fatal car accident along the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road in Ibadan on Monday, September 1, 2025.
The accident occurred early Monday morning, and Mr. Sanku was rushed to Bowen Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A friend confirmed the tragic news on Instagram, sharing a candlelight image alongside a heartfelt tribute.
Reports indicate that the vehicle he was traveling in veered off the road and plunged into a ditch, claiming his life and that of his companion.
Fans and fellow entertainers have taken to social media to mourn the loss, describing Mr. Sanku as a “light in the comedy world” whose creativity brought joy to countless homes.
Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa revealed she sent someone to check on him at the hospital, and was initially told he was responding to treatment. Sadly, despite prayers, he did not survive.
Mr. Sanku was widely known for his distinctive storytelling and relatable comedy style, which struck a chord with young Nigerians.
He began creating skits in 2021 and quickly built a loyal fan base.
