Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa, has opened up on why she no longer pays monthly tithes to the church, revealing that she now directs the money to hospitals, widows, and individuals facing urgent financial challenges.
Makinwa made the disclosure in a video shared on her YouTube channel on Saturday during a podcast session, where she discussed her evolving views on tithing and charitable giving.
According to her, she decided to stop paying tithes to churches after concluding that many of the churches she knows are already financially comfortable.
“I kind of stopped paying tithe to the church because all the churches I know are rich. And I decided that no, no, no, no, I ain’t doing this anymore. I would rather go to hospitals, widows’ homes,” she said.
She explained that her decision was influenced by her belief that her contributions could have a more direct impact if channeled toward individuals and institutions in urgent need of support
