The mother of the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome, has died at the age of 88.
Deaconess Angel reportedly died on Friday morning, September 25, 2026.
Pastor Chris announced her death on Saturday during the Global Day of Prayer programme, saying his mother had “gone to be with the Lord.”
Deaconess Angel, popularly known as “Big Mummy,” was widely respected within the LoveWorld community and was recognised for her role in the family and ministry.
She had earlier received a special commendation from LoveWorld for her contributions to the growth of the ministry.
The death has prompted tributes from members of Christ Embassy and Christian communities in Nigeria and beyond.
Pastor Chris said funeral arrangements for his mother would be announced in due course.
