Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has threatened to retrieve cars, motorcycles and other valuables he previously gifted to individuals he described as ungrateful.
The controversial artiste made the declaration in a viral video shared on his Facebook page, where he was seen offering prayers at an open shrine. In the video, Portable lamented what he called persistent betrayal and false accusations from people he had helped, insisting that he remains a star despite attempts to tarnish his image.
Portable prayed for continued blessings for his supporters and benefactors, while issuing a stern warning to those he accused of ingratitude to return the gifts he had given them.
His outburst follows a string of controversies surrounding his past philanthropic gestures. The singer noted that despite his generosity, some beneficiaries had allegedly turned against him by spreading damaging claims.
Expressing frustration, Portable said he had been labelled a thief and described as wayward by individuals he once assisted, including a traditional ruler. He, however, maintained that he remains divinely blessed.
During the shrine visit, the singer said:
“Everyone who loves me and supports me, God should bless them. But those who don’t love me, it shall not be well with them.”
He added:
“All of you I gave cars, motorcycles and houses but showed ingratitude, return them. God said when someone gives you something and you are not thankful, return it so it can be given to another person. You don’t deserve it.”
Portable specifically accused a monarch he had gifted a car of failing to control his subjects, alleging that they destroyed a market he renovated.
“I gave a king a car and they destroyed a market that has existed for over 20 years. I renovated the market, yet they scattered it and the king could not caution his people,” he said.
He further demanded the return of the vehicle, claiming it was only loaned to the monarch and not sold.
“They said I sold the car, but I only lent it to the king. Now he calls me a wayward child, but I know I am a blessed child,” Portable stated.
Recall that in September 2024, Portable presented a white Range Rover to the King of Oke Osa, Waliu Oduntan, a gesture he announced on his Instagram page as part of his support for cultural traditions.
At the time, the singer said he had received the vehicle as a gift and decided to pass it on, explaining that the car had opened doors for greater blessings in his life.
