The Professional Leadership Practitioners Institute (PLPI) on Thursday held its 2025 Fellowship Induction, Investiture, Awards, and Luncheon at the LCCI Conference Centre, Alausa – Ikeja, Lagos.
The event emphasized the critical role of adaptive and innovative leadership in an era shaped by Artificial Intelligence, automation, and digital disruption.
Delivering the keynote address, President of the Institute, Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, charged leaders and professionals to embrace innovation not as a luxury, but as a necessity for survival. Speaking on the sub-theme, “Driving Innovation Through Leadership in Tech and Startups in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Disruption, he urged stakeholders to rethink leadership and unlock Nigeria’s innovation potential.
Leadership is now the provision of vision and influence on others to realize set goals and objectives through non-coercive means,” Dr. Obasi stated.
He noted significant growth in 2025, particularly in PLPI’s local and international collaborations.
“Our partnerships are being restructured to reflect the realities of our time, and we are confident that by 2026, we will begin to see the results of our efforts,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, *Engr. Olufemi Ariyo* stressed the importance of global leadership, urging participants to cultivate opportunities that earn foreign income.
The ceremony featured a panel discussion, award presentations to deserving dignitaries, and the formal investiture of new Fellows.
Today’s leadership is no longer about titles or authority but about influence, innovation, and integrity,” Prof. Ogbulogo said. “It is about how effectively we can harness ideas, mobilize people, and drive meaningful change — especially in developing societies like ours, where the challenges are immense but the opportunities are greater.”
He emphasized the need to empower youth and entrepreneurs to create the next wave of global solutions — from fintech to green energy — through visionary leadership and a supportive ecosystem.
Speaking on the second sub-theme, Women in Leadership: Breaking Barriers and Leading Change, Prof. Ogbulogo said, “We cannot talk about progress without recognizing and empowering the women who drive communities, organizations, and nations forward. Inclusion is not just a gender issue; it is a leadership imperative.
He also described the event as “a celebration of excellence, integrity, and service,” noting that new Fellows had been inducted, distinguished leaders honored, and transformative insights shared.
In his welcome address, PLPI’s Director General/CEO, Dr. Nathan Obasi, emphasized that leadership is no longer limited to management roles but is democratized and accessible to all.
