The Acting Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, DC Moses Adewole, has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration through a series of courtesy visits to key security and regulatory agencies in Oyo State.
The visits, held between February 17 and 19, 2026, were aimed at strengthening existing partnerships and enhancing synergy in intelligence sharing, joint operations, and national security.
On Tuesday, February 17, DC Adewole led his management team on a courtesy visit to the Department of State Services (DSS), Oyo State Command in Ibadan, where he was received by the State Director, Mr. Rahim Adelakun. The Acting Controller expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the DSS for its crucial role in safeguarding lives, property, and national security. He stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and the DSS.
In his response, Adelakun described the Nigeria Customs Service as a critical institution in Nigeria’s economic development and border protection efforts. He assured the Customs boss of the DSS’s continued support through effective intelligence sharing, joint operations, and capacity-building initiatives.
On Wednesday, February 18, DC Adewole paid a similar visit to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command. He was received by the State Commander, Commander Oluwarotimi Lawal, and his management team. Lawal commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its strategic role in curbing illicit drug trafficking and pledged maximum cooperation with the Oyo/Osun Area Command.
Adewole, in his remarks, appreciated the NDLEA for its continued partnership and reiterated his commitment to strengthening the existing relationship in order to enhance operational effectiveness.
The courtesy visits continued on Thursday, February 19, when the Acting Controller visited the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Southwest Zonal Office in Ibadan. He was received by the Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Isaac Anjorin Kolawole.
During the visit, Adewole acknowledged NAFDAC’s critical role in regulating food and drug safety and reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to sustain collaboration in protecting public health and national interest.
Responding, Dr. Kolawole praised the Nigeria Customs Service for its contributions to revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations, and border security. He assured the Acting Controller of NAFDAC’s continued cooperation, emphasizing that strong inter-agency synergy remains vital to effective service delivery and national development.
The series of visits underscores the determination of the Oyo/Osun Area Command to build stronger partnerships with sister agencies, enhance operational efficiency, bolster national security, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
