The University of Lagos played host to the 18th Annual International Security Conference and Investiture/Induction Ceremony of the Institute of Security Nigeria (ISN) on November 28, 2025. The conference, themed “Expanding Frontiers of Innovations in Security Enhancement and Nation Building in Nigeria,” brought together top security experts, academics, diplomats, and traditional rulers from across Nigeria and beyond.
The ceremony was a defining moment for Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, who was formally inducted as a Fellow of the Institute, emerging as the youngest awardee in her category. Ambassador Oladunni is known for her impressive work in diplomacy, protocol management, and international relations. She currently serves as Aide to the Chairman, Sabré West Africa & Central Africa Region (Foreign Relations & Protocol), and Special Adviser on Foreign Relations & Head of Protocol, Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAACC).
The conference highlighted the importance of partnerships in addressing Nigeria’s dynamic security challenges, and Ambassador Oladunni’s fellowship marks another milestone in her rising career, defined by excellence, diplomacy, service, and a commitment to nation-building.
The keynote address was delivered by Ambassador Tukur Yusuf Buratai, CFR, retired Chief of Army Staff, who emphasized the need for innovation, inter-agency collaboration, and global best practices to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture. The event also witnessed the induction of prominent personalities into the ranks of Distinguished Fellows, Senior Fellows, Fellows, and Professional Associates, including His Excellency, Prof. Amb. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Amb. Saka Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom.
In her post-investiture remarks, Ambassador Oladunni expressed gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, stating:
“I have received many awards, but this one from the University of Lagos and the Institute of Security Nigeria is a unique privilege. Being the youngest in this category makes it even more meaningful.”She highlighted her commitment to global peace efforts and her dedication to further developing her skills and impact in international security and conflict resolution.
