Ismail Usman is currently lying in critical condition at a hospital in Abuja after allegedly shooting himself in the stomach while testing a bulletproof charm.
According to reports, the Abuja-based native doctor sustained the gunshot wound on Thursday, November 28, 2023, in Kuchibuyi community, Bwari Area Council, after firing a shot at himself to test the efficacy of a charm he had just prepared.
He reportedly collapsed immediately and was rushed to the hospital by concerned neighbors who arrived at the scene after hearing a loud noise.
Police Statement:
The FCT Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that Usman used a locally made gun to shoot himself in the stomach.
“Police operatives from the Byazhin Division responded swiftly and met the victim in critical condition. He was immediately taken to Kubwa General Hospital for emergency care and later referred to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, for further treatment,” said SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, Abuja.
