President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sadness over the recent bombings in Maiduguri, Borno State, describing the attacks as shocking and unacceptable.
In a statement released Tuesday, he offered condolences to families who lost loved ones and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
According to the President, the bombings represent “desperate acts” by terrorists who are under increasing pressure from Nigeria’s security forces. He commended the bravery of the military and security agencies for successfully repelling coordinated attacks on military positions.
To tackle the situation, Tinubu has ordered top security officials to move to Maiduguri and oversee operations on the ground. He also approved additional support and equipment for security agencies to strengthen their fight against insurgency.
“There is no place in Nigeria where terrorists can hide. We will track them down and defeat them completely,” the President said, reaffirming that the country will not bow to intimidation.
Tinubu further directed emergency management teams to provide immediate care for the injured and stressed that the federal government is committed to protecting citizens and restoring peace to affected communities.
