FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s Three Crowns Milk empowers 30 women with business equipment, promotes health and financial awareness at 2026 August Meeting in Owerri.
Nigeria’s dairy brand, Three Crowns Milk, owned by FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, has reaffirmed its commitment to women’s well-being, empowerment and cultural development through a series of health and awareness initiatives in South-East Nigeria.
The company demonstrated the commitment during the 2026 August Meeting in Owerri, Imo State, where it celebrated thousands of women and promoted healthy living, community development and cultural heritage.
The August Meeting, one of the largest and most significant cultural gatherings in South-East Nigeria, brings together women from different communities and parts of the world for a homecoming centred on community development, networking, empowerment and social interaction.
The 2026 edition provided another platform for women to connect, celebrate shared values and strengthen community bonds.
Living up to its positioning as a brand that cares for mothers, Three Crowns Milk engaged participants through interactive activities, dairy-category education, games, product sampling and other rewarding experiences designed to celebrate the contributions of mothers to their families and communities.
A major highlight of the event was the brand’s empowerment initiative, through which women received education on health, finance and agriculture, while 30 underserved women were presented with equipment to support the commencement or expansion of their businesses.
The initiative, according to the company, reinforces its commitment to supporting mothers, promoting healthier lifestyles and creating meaningful connections with women across communities.
The event, held on Saturday at Umuorii Field, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Umuorii, attracted women from Umualum, Umuorii, Umuoba, Okwu, Owalla, Owaelu, Umunahu, Orji, Amakohia and Akwakuma communities.
The celebration was attended by the First Lady of Imo State, Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, who was represented by Mrs Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra/Imo River Basin Development Authority.
Guests were also entertained by celebrated actress and influencer, Ebelle Okaro, whose presence added colour and inspiration to the gathering.
Speaking at the event, the Marketing Director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, Maureen Ifada, said the company believes that empowering women contributes to stronger families and communities.
“When women thrive, families and communities flourish. Through Three Crowns Milk, we remain committed to creating platforms that celebrate, support, and empower mothers, because they are the foundation of healthier families and stronger societies,” Ifada said.
She added that the August Meeting provided an opportunity for the brand to connect with women at the intersection of culture, community and wellness.
Also speaking on the activation, the Marketing Manager of Three Crowns Milk, Chioma Otisi-Igwe, said supporting mothers goes beyond providing good nutrition.
“Beyond providing good nutrition, supporting mothers means creating opportunities that empower them to thrive,” she said.
The company said it would continue to explore initiatives that promote women’s well-being, empowerment, nutrition and community development across Nigeria.
