A cleric, Primate Ayodele, has cautioned that the re-election prospects of some state governors in Nigeria remain uncertain, urging them to seek divine intervention ahead of the next election cycle.
In a statement released to journalists, Ayodele specifically mentioned the governors of Plateau State and Edo State, warning that their chances of securing a second term are not guaranteed and require serious prayers.
According to him, “The Plateau State governor should pray for a second term. The Edo State governor should also pray for a second term. Not all these governors have the assurance of a second term.”
He emphasized that while political structures and party support may appear solid on the surface, underlying challenges could pose significant threats to their ambitions.
Ayodele further explained that the political climate in both states is likely to grow more complex as elections approach. He noted that internal party disputes, opposition strategies, and possible public dissatisfaction could combine to create major obstacles for incumbents seeking re-election.
