The Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, has been named Industrialist of the Year by Vanguard Media Limited, in recognition of his leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and the company’s impact on Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites on April 24, 2026, drawing business leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
Under Adegunwa’s leadership, Rite Foods has reshaped competition in the FMCG space, challenging established players and redefining consumer expectations through innovation, quality, and accessibility. The company has continued to introduce new product formats while building brands that resonate strongly with Nigerian consumers.
Speaking at the event, Vanguard Editor, Eze Anaba, commended Adegunwa for driving the company’s expansion, strengthening its distribution network, and fostering a culture of continuous innovation. He noted that the company’s growth has also created jobs across its value chain, from production to retail.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Managing Director, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, described the recognition as a validation of Rite Foods’ commitment to excellence.
He said the company remains focused on delivering high-quality products while pushing the boundaries of innovation in the industry.
Rite Foods’ rise has been driven by a portfolio of well-known brands. Its Bigi range of carbonated soft drinks has gained strong market acceptance, while Fearless Energy Drink has stood out for its unique packaging and positioning. The company’s Sosa Fruit Drink and sausage products have also contributed to its growing market presence.
Beyond its product offerings, Rite Foods has strengthened its brand through strategic engagement in entertainment, including its sponsorship of Nigerian Idol, supporting talent development and connecting with a broader audience.
