The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the alleged non-establishment of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) within the Federal Budget Framework on Monday continued its investigative hearing with heads of Ministries,
Departments and Agencies (MDAs) at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The committee, chaired by Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, is examining issues surrounding the reported absence of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council in the federal budget framework and its implications for Nigeria’s investment promotion efforts.
Present at the hearing were committee members Rep. Abubakar Fulata and Rep. Afam Ogene, alongside heads and representatives of relevant MDAs who appeared before the panel to provide explanations and submit documents requested by the lawmakers.
The ongoing investigation is expected to determine compliance with existing laws and budgetary provisions, as well as recommend appropriate measures to strengthen transparency, accountability and the institutional framework for attracting foreign investment into Nigeria.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation in line with its legislative oversight responsibilities.
