The company says improved resource management has generated significant savings.
Promasidor has launched the Eco Alert App, a new digital platform designed to enable employees to report sustainability-related issues and support timely action to address them.
The initiative was unveiled during the company’s Sustainability Day 2026 event, which brought employees together to promote environmental responsibility and encourage sustainable practices across its operations.
The app provides employees with a dedicated channel to identify and report sustainability concerns, reinforcing the company’s drive to make environmental responsibility a shared commitment across the organisation.
Speaking at the event, Promasidor’s Chief Technical Officer, Brighton Ochieng, highlighted the company’s progress in resource management despite challenges encountered along its sustainability journey.
Ochieng disclosed that the company had achieved a 30 per cent reduction in paper usage year-to-date, while improvements in water and energy consumption had contributed to greater resource efficiency.
According to him, these initiatives had also generated significant savings for the company this year, demonstrating the financial benefits of responsible resource management.
He noted that sustainability efforts could deliver operational improvements while reducing waste and promoting more efficient use of available resources.
The company’s Packaging and Sustainability Manager, Solomon Makanjuola, also emphasised the growing importance of sustainability to the business.
Makanjuola shared insights into emerging sustainability trends and encouraged employees to adopt more environmentally responsible practices in their daily activities.
The event also recognised employees whose contributions have advanced the company’s sustainability objectives.
The Heat Factory received special recognition for adopting a paperless process, demonstrating how changes in routine workplace practices can help conserve resources and reduce paper consumption.
Employees also participated in a sustainability quiz designed to test their knowledge and reinforce lessons from the programme.
The event concluded with attendees pledging to embrace sustainable practices not only at work but also at home and within their communities.
With the introduction of the Eco Alert App and continued improvements in resource efficiency, Promasidor is seeking to strengthen employee participation in its sustainability initiatives.
The company said the initiative reflects its commitment to building a workplace culture in which employees actively identify environmental concerns and contribute to continuous improvement.
