The Cyclotron Cycling Club has extended humanitarian support to motherless and abandoned children in Lagos State through a charitable outreach aimed at strengthening community care and social welfare.
In line with its commitment to uplifting society and supporting humanitarian causes, the club visited the Nigerian Red Cross headquarters in Yaba, Lagos, where it donated food items, toiletries, and cash gifts to children under the care of the organisation.
The outreach, tagged “Children’s Charity Outreach,” reflects the club’s growing dedication to community service beyond cycling, as members continue to combine sport with social impact.
Representatives of the Nigerian Red Cross expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful in supporting their humanitarian responsibilities.
“We deeply appreciate the generosity of Cyclotron Cycling Club. Your thoughtful donation of food items and financial support aligns with the mission of the National Society to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable people in communities around the world,” said Olakunle Lasisi, Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross, Lagos State. “Your support brings hope and relief to the motherless babies and orphans in our care,” he added.
Speaking during the visit, the Club Captain of Cyclotron Cycling Club, Eziafakaku Nwokolo, noted that the initiative reflects the club’s broader values.
“Cycling is not just about fitness and recreation; it is also about building communities and touching lives. Today, we are honoured to stand with the Nigerian Red Cross in supporting children who deserve love, care, and hope for a brighter future,” he said.
The Nigerian Red Cross team further commended the club and its partner, Polaris Bank, for supporting humanitarian initiatives, noting that such contributions play a vital role in sustaining relief efforts for vulnerable groups across the country.
Cyclotron Cycling Club continues to promote initiatives that combine sports with social responsibility, encouraging members and the public to embrace charitable giving as part of everyday life.
