MTN Nigeria recorded major wins at the 2025 CIO & C-Suite Conference & Awards, held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Civic Centre, Lagos. The company clinched three top honours: its Chief Information Officer, Shoyinka Shodunke, was named Overall Best CIO and Tech Champion of the Year, while MTN Nigeria also received the TechCo Innovation Excellence Award.
The clean sweep at the annual event—organised by The CIO Club Africa and convened by Abiola Laseinde—reinforces MTN’s continued leadership in technology, innovation, and enterprise transformation. Themed “Tax Meets Tech: Africa’s Leap to a Digital Economy,” this year’s edition brought together key executives, policymakers, and innovators shaping Africa’s digital landscape.
Though Shodunke was absent, the MTN Nigeria delegation, led by Ude Enebeli, General Manager, Information Technology Service Management, represented the company impressively—demonstrating the strength and depth of MTN’s technology leadership.
Observers described MTN’s approach as a model of efficiency, citing its adoption of AI-driven processes that have improved network reliability and customer experience.
MTN Nigeria’s consistent investment in strengthening its network infrastructure, deploying next-generation technologies, and enhancing service delivery continues to set it apart in the industry.
Commenting at the event, a telecom executive described MTN Nigeria as “setting the benchmark for the industry,” while technology analysts highlighted the company’s strategic leadership and governance as key competitive advantages. In a panel session, Olukunle Ogunbamowo of Deloitte discussed how emerging technologies like blockchain are being used to simplify compliance and enhance business sustainability.
As the summit concluded, the mood remained optimistic. MTN Nigeria’s achievements not only affirm its leadership in telecom and enterprise technology but also highlight the role of innovation in advancing Africa’s digital transformation.
