MTN Next Afrobeats Star Season 2 is set for its final audition stop in Lagos this weekend, following auditions in Enugu, Benin and Abuja that produced several promising emerging artistes.
The Lagos auditions started on Friday, September 18, and will run through Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Ultima Studios, Lekki, marking the final stop of the nationwide audition tour.
The competition has already identified emerging talents across the cities visited so far.
In Enugu, Adriel Umoh, Michael Tamaradoubra Eyetuaghanwo and Alexandra Iwuchukwu earned Golden Mics and secured places in the next round.
Unigwe Chinenye and brothers Emmanuel and Kingsley Diala also advanced after receiving three yeses from the judges.
The Benin auditions produced another group of contenders, with Destiny Irabor and Onyenankeya Eloghosa earning Golden Mics, while Adedina Mary advanced to the next round.
The audition also attracted aspiring artistes from outside Edo State, highlighting the growing reach of the music talent competition.
In Abuja, Delight Sunday, David Samson and Mary-Magdalene Ogar earned Golden Mics, while several other contestants progressed after receiving three yeses from the judges.
Through the Next Afrobeats Star initiative, MTN Nigeria, in partnership with Ultima Studios and ONErpm, is providing a platform for emerging artistes to showcase their talent, develop their craft and pursue opportunities in the music industry.
With the Lagos auditions currently taking place, aspiring artistes have a final opportunity to audition for a place in the next stage of the competition.
Registration for MTN Next Afrobeats Star Season 2 remains open until September 21, 2026, at a cost of ₦600.
