A fire outbreak has affected a warehouse facility belonging to Nigerian Breweries Plc in Aba, Abia State, with no casualties reported.
The incident, which occurred on April 9, 2026, was said to have impacted an external storage warehouse used for keeping empty plastic crates. Emergency responders were swiftly mobilised to the scene and successfully contained the fire before it could spread to other critical facilities.
In a statement, the company confirmed that the fire did not affect its main brewery operations, stressing that production, logistics, and distribution activities in Aba remain fully operational.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that thick smoke was seen billowing from the warehouse area, prompting concern among residents and workers in the vicinity. However, prompt intervention by firefighters helped to minimise damage.
Nigerian Breweries Plc reassured stakeholders that no injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident. The company also noted that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
The firm reiterated its commitment to safety and operational continuity, adding that measures are being reviewed to prevent future occurrences.
