The Federal Government has warned Nigerians against fraudulent online links claiming to offer ₦50,000 cash transfers to citizens without requiring Bank Verification Numbers (BVN).
The warning follows the circulation of a message directing Nigerians to apply through an unofficial website, billnova.online/fg50k, claiming that the government is giving ₦50,000 to all Nigerians.
The government’s genuine ₦50,000 relief initiative, under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is targeted at eligible vulnerable households and is not an automatic payment to every Nigerian.
Beneficiaries are expected to be identified through approved government social protection records and notified through authorised channels.
Nigerians are therefore advised not to click suspicious links or disclose their personal or banking details to unknown websites.
