The Governing Council of Achievers University has approved the appointment of Mr. Sulaiman Adebayo Olagunju as the fourth Registrar of the institution. The decision was ratified at the Council’s 40th meeting held on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Mr. Olagunju’s elevation to Registrar reflects the Council’s confidence in his administrative acumen and ability to lead the Registry during a key phase of institutional growth and transformation.
He joined Achievers University on May 2, 2008, as Senior Assistant Registrar (Media)/Public Relations Officer shortly after the university commenced academic activities. Over the years, he has held several significant roles, including College Secretary for the College of Social and Management Sciences, Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies, and Deputy Registrar, a position he assumed in October 2020.
Before joining Achievers, Mr. Olagunju worked in the Federal Civil Service and also made his mark in journalism at Tell Communications Ltd, publishers of *Tell* magazine, where he rose to become Head of the Copy Desk.
An alumnus of the University of Ilorin, he holds a B.A. (Ed.) in English Language Arts, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, and a Master’s in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from Babcock University. He is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
The management, staff, and students of Achievers University have congratulated Mr. Olagunju on his new role and expressed optimism about his leadership in enhancing the university’s administrative and stakeholder engagement systems.
