The Ancient Egushi-Otta Area Community Development Committee (ACDC) has expressed its readiness to celebrate HRH Oba Alagbe Adio Maroof, the Elegushi of Egushi-Otta Awori Kingdom, as the Ogun State Government prepares to present him with his Staff of Office.
The presentation ceremony is scheduled for August 17, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the monarch’s reign and formally recognising his leadership of the Egushi-Otta Awori Kingdom.
The event is expected to bring together community leaders, traditional rulers, government representatives and residents of Egushi-Otta to witness the presentation and celebrate the monarch.
Speaking through the Vice Chairman of the Ancient Egushi-Otta ACDC, Alhaji Saint Ibnu Yousouf, the apex community leaders, High Chief S.M.A. Abeleboja, Atunlushe of Egushi-Otta, and Engr. Chief K.O. Saoga, Majeobaje of Egushi-Otta, commended Oba Alagbe for his leadership qualities, progressive outlook and commitment to community development.
The community leaders described the monarch as a traditional ruler with a developmental mindset, expressing optimism that his reign would contribute significantly to peace, unity and progress in Egushi-Otta.
The Ancient Egushi-Otta ACDC said the presentation of the Staff of Office provides an opportunity for the community to reaffirm its support for the traditional institution and its role in promoting peace, unity and sustainable development.
The community also prayed for a peaceful, prosperous and long reign for Oba Alagbe, while calling on residents, leaders and well-wishers to join in celebrating the historic occasion.
