President Bola Tinubu has submitted a list of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The list features high-profile and controversial figures, including former INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, ex-Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, and presidential aide Reno Omokri.
Also nominated are former governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), key allies of Nyesom Wike and members of the former G-5 governors group.
The nominees include 15 career diplomats and 17 non-career appointees. The presidency maintains that the selections reflect competence, experience, and Nigeria’s strategic diplomatic needs.
