The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Unification Church has raised alarm over the continued captivity of 151 of its members abducted at Wali in Kaduna State on January 18, calling on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure their release.
The Head of the Church, Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale-Alogbo, disclosed this on Monday at a press conference held at Maba, near Lagos, while announcing activities for the church’s 2026 annual conference themed “An Unhidden City.”
Adewale-Alogbo said the church was deeply troubled by the abduction and the prolonged detention of its members, describing the situation as painful and distressing to their families and the Christian community.
He explained that the annual conference, which begins on Thursday in Lagos, would serve as a period of reflection, renewal, and recommitment to unity, moral restoration, and national healing.
According to him, the conference will feature teachings on faith, leadership, youth engagement, nation-building, accountability, and integrity.
The church leader expressed concern over the rising insecurity in the country, noting that insurgency has led to the loss of innocent lives and widespread displacement.
While acknowledging the Federal Government’s efforts to address security challenges, Adewale-Alogbo urged authorities to do more to end insecurity and restore peace across the nation.
