The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has described children as the leaders of tomorrow, stressing the need for proper upbringing, quality education, and moral development to secure Nigeria’s future.
Ojajuni made the remark while receiving the Commandant of Police Secondary School, Sagamu, Nanloh Rindap, alongside the school’s management team and students during a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, as part of activities marking the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
Speaking during the visit, Rindap commended the police commissioner for what he described as exemplary leadership, professionalism, and commitment to the welfare, discipline, and development of officers, personnel, and members of the police community.
He noted that Police Secondary School, Sagamu, has continued to benefit from the support of the Ogun State Police Command, particularly in the areas of discipline, moral instruction, and educational development.
On behalf of the students, Miss Oluwadarasimi Adeyemo expressed appreciation to the commissioner of police and the management team of the command for their continuous encouragement and support for students of the institution.
She also commended the command for promoting discipline, academic excellence, and positive character development among young people.
In his remarks, Ojajuni congratulated children across Ogun State and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, urging students to remain disciplined, focused on their studies, and respectful to constituted authority.
He encouraged them to embrace values that promote peace, unity, integrity, and patriotism, adding that Nigerian children possess the potential to become responsible leaders capable of shaping the nation’s future positively through hard work, determination, and proper guidance.
The police commissioner further reassured children, parents, and residents of the command’s commitment to ensuring a safe and conducive environment for children to learn, grow, and achieve their aspirations without fear or intimidation.
Members of the command’s management team also commended the leadership of Police Secondary School, Sagamu, for its sustained commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and moral instruction, while encouraging students to remain law-abiding and committed to their educational pursuits.
Ojajuni reaffirmed the command’s support for initiatives and programmes aimed at promoting youth development, educational advancement, and institutional growth within the police community and society at large.
