President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other prominent Nigerians have paid glowing tributes to the late Alhaji Kola Oseni, urging citizens to uphold the values of integrity, courage and truthfulness that defined his life.
Speaking at the Seventh-Day Fidau Prayer held in honour of the late Oseni at Eko Club, Surulere, on Wednesday, President Tinubu, represented by Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, described the deceased as a courageous and principled man who never compromised his convictions.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to honour Oseni’s memory by living lives of integrity, speaking the truth without fear and remaining steadfast in the pursuit of what is right.
According to the President, Oseni earned widespread respect for always standing by his beliefs, regardless of prevailing opinions.
“He was a man who expressed his opinions as he saw them. He was never a follow-follow person; he only followed what he believed was right,” Hamzat said.
Recalling his last meeting with the deceased, Hamzat described Oseni as a generous and sincere individual whose courage and commitment positively impacted many lives.
The widow of the deceased, Mrs. Karling Oseni, described her husband as a charismatic leader, accomplished community organiser and visionary family man who inspired others through discipline, accountability and excellence.
She said his passion for service and unwavering commitment to his family and community would remain a lasting legacy.
The first son of the deceased, Abdul Lateef Oseni, also paid tribute to his father, describing him as a man of authenticity, courage and determination whose life would continue to inspire future generations.
Former Vice-Presidential candidate Ambassador Babagana Kingibe urged Nigerians to live righteous and purposeful lives, describing Oseni as a devout Muslim who exemplified piety, integrity and unwavering commitment to his faith.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch, Alhaji Kamurudeen Aremu Salami, called on members of the society to remain united and committed to its vision despite the loss of one of its distinguished leaders.
He said the ideals and aspirations championed by the late Oseni should continue to guide the society.
Prayers were offered for Allah to forgive the late Alhaji Kola Oseni’s shortcomings, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, comfort his family and preserve the enduring legacy of his exemplary life.
