The Ogun State Police Command has deployed officers and operational assets across seventy-two (72) accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to ensure the safe conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The examination, organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 25, 2026.
The deployment is part of proactive, intelligence-led security measures adopted by the Command to guarantee a safe, orderly, and credible examination process across the state. The operational plan includes visible police presence, early threat detection, and swift response to any security concerns before, during, and after the examination period.
In line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, all Area Commanders in jurisdictions hosting CBT centres have been placed on heightened alert and directed to take full responsibility for security within their areas. They are to ensure strict supervision of deployed personnel, sustained patrols around examination venues, and close coordination with Divisional Police Officers, tactical teams, and JAMB officials.
The Command also warned that any attempt to engage in examination malpractice, impersonation, or disorderly conduct will be met with swift and decisive action, including arrest and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police assured residents of robust security coverage throughout the examination period, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, order, and the integrity of the 2026 UTME across the state. He urged candidates to comply strictly with all examination guidelines and conduct themselves responsibly.
