A Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted and sentenced two notorious drug kingpins, Ajetsibo Emami (aka “Warri Kinsman”) and Solomon Akpomuai, to a combined 10 years imprisonment.
Emami was arrested on June 28, 2025, after NDLEA operatives dismantled his drug trafficking network in a three-day operation.
24 jumbo bags containing 681 pouches of Canadian Loud, a strain of cannabis, weighing 414.2 kilograms, were recovered from his network.
Emami was convicted on August 18, 2025, and sentenced to six years in prison with an option of N50 million fine.
Akpomuai was arrested on June 3, 2025, by men of the Customs Service with 2,197.8 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis.
Akpomuai was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison with an option of N50 million fine.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), described the conviction of the two drug kingpins as a significant step towards overcoming the menace of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in Nigeria.
He commended the judiciary, NDLEA officers, and other stakeholders for their commitment to a drug-free country.
