The Ogun State Police Command has partnered with The Life Projects and other corporate organisations to provide a free medical outreach for officers and their families in commemoration of the 2026 World Malaria Day.
The outreach, held on April 24, 2026, at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ibara, Abeokuta, offered basic healthcare services, malaria testing, and treatment to police personnel, their families, and civilian staff.
With the theme, “Driven to End Malaria; Now We Can, Now We Must,” the initiative featured free medical consultations, malaria parasite tests, and the distribution of long-lasting insecticidal nets as well as anti-malarial drugs.
Participants also benefited from health education sessions focused on environmental hygiene and preventive measures aimed at reducing the spread of malaria within police barracks and surrounding communities.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, said the collaboration reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to promoting the “Health is Wealth” mantra. He stressed that a healthy workforce remains essential for effective policing and public safety.
Ojajuni commended The Life Projects and its partners for their contributions to improving community health and supporting the wellbeing of officers in the command.
The outreach forms part of broader efforts to combat malaria and improve access to healthcare services among security personnel and residents in Ogun State.
