Two disturbing incidents of violence have been reported in Ondo State, Nigeria. In the first incident, a man identified as Emmanuel, son of a police officer known as ‘Awilo’, allegedly killed his brother Daniel during a heated argument in the Onigbara River Community in Odigbo Local Government Area.
According to reports, the cause of the argument remains unknown, but sources suggest that Daniel may have launched a fatal attack on his brother first. The incident has shocked the community, with a resident expressing dismay that a quarrel could end in such a tragic manner.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure for further probe.
In a separate incident, a woman named Augustina Mowari was arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a dispute over suspected infidelity in Okitipupa. The incident occurred on Sunday, and the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the crime.
DSP Ayanlade confirmed the arrest and stated that the command has commenced a full investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident. The suspect is currently being held as investigations continue.
