Motorists and commuters faced severe gridlock along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Friday afternoon following an accident involving a heavy-duty truck and two passenger vehicles.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed that the incident occurred on the Berger inward Secretariat axis of the expressway. Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported.
The crash caused significant traffic congestion, with a backlog stretching from Jubilee Estate all the way to Berger New Garage. Recovery operations and traffic control measures were promptly deployed to ease the situation.
LASTMA officials remain at the scene to supervise vehicle evacuation and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
“Efforts are ongoing to clear the wreckage. Our men are on ground to manage the situation and ease traffic movement,” the agency said.
