President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, saying the outcome of the election demonstrates the continued strength of democracy in Nigeria.
The President, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Adeleke’s victory reflected the confidence reposed in him by the people of Osun State.
President Tinubu said he had earlier called the governor to congratulate him on his electoral victory and wished him success as he prepares to lead the state for another four-year term.
He urged Adeleke to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State, irrespective of their political affiliations or choices during the election.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” the President said.
Tinubu also commended other contestants for the courage and discipline they demonstrated throughout the electoral process, noting that their participation contributed to the development of Nigeria’s democratic culture.
According to the President, the election outcome represents the will of the people and reinforces confidence in the continued flourishing of democracy in the country.
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
The President expressed confidence that the democratic process would continue to strengthen under his administration.
