A suspected thief who had allegedly been terrorizing palm oil traders at Urua Anwa Market in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has been apprehended.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the suspect, who had reportedly been targeting traders for some time, was caught in the act while attempting to sneak away with some containers of palm oil.
The quick intervention of market leaders and vigilant traders prevented the situation from escalating into mob action, ensuring the suspect was restrained and handed over to security authorities for proper investigation and prosecution.
He was later handed over to the appropriate authorities for further questioning and possible prosecution, bringing relief to traders who had long been troubled by his alleged activities.
