A disturbing revelation has sparked outrage and fear across social media after a woman, who identified herself as a mortuary attendant, claimed that she used to be involved in the sale of what she called “dead body water” in Nigeria.
In a now-viral video, the woman alleged that the liquid—collected during the embalming or preservation of corpses—was in high demand among certain celebrities, wealthy individuals, and even food vendors. According to her, some buyers believe the substance carries spiritual powers or commercial benefits.
The unnamed attendant claimed that she was introduced to the practice by senior colleagues and partook in the trade for financial gain. She alleged that some customers used the “water” for ritual purposes, while others reportedly mixed it into products or food items to attract customers.
Her confession has drawn sharp criticism and concern from Nigerians, with many demanding an investigation by health and security authorities. Others have called for regulation and monitoring of mortuary activities nationwide to prevent such disturbing practices.
