Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, was stopped from attending the Senate plenary on Tuesday despite entering the National Assembly premises. The senator was accompanied by activist Aisha Yesufu on foot after her vehicle was blocked by security agencies attached to the National Assembly.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was previously suspended for six months by the Senate over her decision to ignore sitting arrangements. Despite this, she attempted to attend the plenary session but was unable to gain access to the chamber.
The senator plans to meet with her legal team to seek court clarification on the matter after being blocked from attending the Senate plenary.
