Seme Customs Command Generates ₦2bn in First Three Weeks of 2026, Sustains 2025 Revenue Momentum
The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has sustained its strong revenue performance into 2026, generating about ₦2 billion within the first three weeks of the new year.
This impressive figure builds on the command’s remarkable achievement in 2025, when it recorded a total revenue of ₦15.6 billion, out of which ₦3.6 billion was collected in December alone.
The Controller of the Seme Border Command, Comptroller Wale Adenuga, disclosed the latest revenue figures while receiving members of the Caretaker Committee of the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), led by Mr Tunde Ayodele, during a courtesy visit to his office on January 21, 2026.
Comptroller Adenuga attributed the sustained high revenue performance to improved operational strategies, officers’ commitment, and strict enforcement of customs regulations at the border.
He reaffirmed the command’s determination to intensify efforts against smuggling while ensuring legitimate trade facilitation, in line with the Federal Government’s revenue drive.
The Customs boss also commended officers and stakeholders for their cooperation, assuring that the command would continue to block revenue leakages and surpass its targets in 2026.
