Rite Foods Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable business practices, recording significant progress in environmental stewardship, clean energy adoption and community development as it continues to embed sustainability across its operations.
The company’s 2025 Sustainability Report shows that it reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than five per cent, improved carbon intensity by 23 per cent, increased water-use efficiency by 15 per cent and enhanced solid waste management by 27 per cent.
Presenting the report in Lagos, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Mr. Ekuma Eze, attributed the achievements to sustained investments in cleaner production processes, resource efficiency and operational excellence.
He disclosed that natural gas now accounts for more than 93 per cent of the company’s energy mix, while ongoing investments in renewable energy solutions continue to support its long-term sustainability objectives.
Beyond its environmental achievements, Eze said Rite Foods sustained about 3,000 direct jobs and over 12,000 indirect jobs across its value chain. The company also invested more than ₦581.92 million in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability and other community development initiatives.
According to him, sustainability has become a central pillar of the company’s growth strategy and a key driver of long-term value creation.

Every milestone we have achieved reflects our resolve to operate responsibly, reduce our environmental footprint, create shared value for our stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to national development,” Eze said.
He added that the company would continue to prioritise innovation, transparency and continuous improvement to ensure its growth delivers lasting value to consumers, employees and host communities.
Eze further noted that Rite Foods has voluntarily aligned its sustainability reporting with internationally recognised standards, underscoring its commitment to responsible corporate leadership, transparency and accountability.
Prepared with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and incorporating elements of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, the 2025 Sustainability Report highlights the company’s commitment to strengthening its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance in line with global best practices.
Rite Foods said it remains focused on driving sustainable innovation, creating shared value and setting new benchmarks for responsible manufacturing in Nigeria.
The company’s product portfolio includes 13 variants of Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, Sosa Fruit Drink, Fearless Energy Drink, and Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex sausages.
