Former Imo State Governor and Senator, Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
Reports published on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, said Okorocha was arrested on Monday night at a hotel in Abuja and released on bail after approximately one hour of interrogation.
The spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, CSP Aniete Iniedu, reportedly confirmed the arrest and release, adding that the former governor was asked to return to the Force Headquarters for further questioning as investigations continue.
The case reportedly relates to disputed documents concerning the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Imo West Senatorial District.
Okorocha had earlier denied reports that a court issued a warrant for his arrest, challenging those behind the claims to produce the alleged court order.
The police investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against the former governor have not been established in court.
