The Ondo State Government has commenced an intensive asphalt overlay and road rehabilitation project in Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area, as part of its broader infrastructural renewal initiative.
According to project handlers, the roadwork is in line with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s Ease and Even Development” agenda, which prioritizes balanced infrastructure development across all local government areas of the state—both urban and riverine.
The rehabilitation project, which includes re-asphalting and fixing of critical road segments, is expected to significantly improve road accessibility, ease transportation for residents, and support economic activities, especially in the coastal region, which is often neglected in infrastructure planning.
Residents of Igbokoda have expressed optimism that the intervention will bring lasting relief to motorists and business owners who have endured years of hardship due to deteriorated road conditions.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that no part of Ondo State is left behind, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure equity* and functional road networks as key enablers of social and economic development.
With this latest effort in Ilaje LGA, the state government reinforces its focus on grassroots development, further strengthening public confidence in the Aiyedatiwa-led administration.
