The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging the imposition of a curfew or restriction of movement across the state, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, said the Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni, assured residents that the security situation in Ogun State remains peaceful and under control.
According to the statement, adequate deployment of personnel and operational assets has been strategically positioned across the state to maintain law and order, as well as protect lives and property.
The Command urged residents to disregard unverified reports capable of causing unnecessary panic and advised members of the public to continue with their lawful activities without fear.
The police also encouraged residents to report suspicious movements or security concerns through the Command’s emergency channels, including the Gateway Shield toll-free complaints line and other designated emergency numbers.
