The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, alongside members of the Command’s management team, has received a delegation from the Chinese Consulate during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Consular General of the Chinese Consulate, Mr. Wang Yue, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, deepen diplomatic cooperation, and enhance security collaboration between the Consulate and the Ogun State Police Command.
Speaking during the visit, CP Ojajuni highlighted the importance of the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and China, noting that both countries have maintained 55 years of diplomatic ties and mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, investment, and development.
The police commissioner also referenced his previous role as Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Annex, Lagos (National Central Bureau), stating that the experience strengthened international law enforcement collaboration and enhanced cooperation in addressing transnational policing issues within global policing frameworks.
CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals and the protection of their business interests across Ogun State. He stressed that the Command remains determined to strengthen security around critical infrastructure, industrial corridors, and investment hubs in the state.
According to him, Chinese industrial investments and business operations play a strategic role in Ogun State’s economy, adding that the Command would continue to maintain police visibility, intelligence-led policing, and proactive crime prevention measures aimed at safeguarding economic activities and boosting investor confidence.
In support of improved operational efficiency, the Chinese Consulate delegation donated communication equipment, including walkie-talkies, to the Ogun State Police Command to enhance emergency response and operational coordination.
Mr. Wang Yue also presented a congratulatory letter to CP Ojajuni on behalf of the Chinese Consulate, commending his appointment and expressing confidence in his leadership, professionalism, and experience in policing and international cooperation.
In his remarks, Wang Yue praised the Ogun State Police Command for its professionalism and sustained efforts in maintaining peace and security, particularly in areas hosting Chinese businesses and investments. He also appreciated the warm reception accorded the delegation and reaffirmed the Consulate’s readiness to sustain collaboration with the Command.
The visit further reinforced the strong diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and China while underscoring the importance of continuous security cooperation in promoting peaceful coexistence and economic growth.
