The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of the cost of obtaining the Nigerian international passport.
In a statement released on Thursday by the NIS spokesperson, A.S. Akinlabi, the new pricing will take effect from September 1, 2025.
According to the revised fees, a 32-page passport with 5-year validity will now cost N100,000, up from N50,000. Similarly, the 64-page passport with 10-year validity has been increased from N100,000 to N200,000.
“The review, which only affects passport applications made within Nigeria, now sets new thresholds at N100,000 for the 32-page passport (5-year validity) and N200,000 for the 64-page passport (10-year validity),” the statement read.
However, passport application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged—150 for the 32-page (5-year validity) and 230 for the 64-page (10-year validity) passports.
