Indeed, it was a day of thanksgiving, reflection, and rejoicing — a fitting tribute to a life dedicated to service, worship, and the Kingdom of God.
Many well-wishers took turns to pay glowing tributes to Lady Evangelist Elizabeth Folasade Adebayo during the colourful celebration of her 70th birthday.
Pastor Philip Adewumi described the celebrant as a passionate prayer warrior known for turning people’s sorrow into joy and tears into laughter. He praised her as a woman who lives a life of daily praise and worship, a destiny helper, and a generous soul who touches everyone she encounters.
Deaconess (Dr.) Florence Adetutu Oni, in her tribute, fondly referred to the celebrant as “Mama Dasiwa,” a name derived from one of her popular songs. She hailed her as not only an evangelist and prophet but also a soul-winning gospel music minister. “She is a true lover of God and humanity — always willing to help. A mother not just to her biological children, but to every child around her,” she said.
Mrs. Ayodeji Michael-Oni, one of Evangelist Adebayo’s daughters, described her mother as the best any child could ask for — a woman full of love, a role model, and the only woman truly worthy of being her father’s wife.
Rounding off the tributes, Pastor Ezekiel Adebayo, the celebrant’s husband, shared a touching testimony about their journey together. He recounted how he met her in church while they were both choristers.
He said his search for a life partner ended when he found her — someone who not only shared his love for music but also bore a physical resemblance. “I was called ‘Oyinbo’ among the men, and she was also called ‘Oyinbo’ among the women. It was a divine match,” he fondly recalled.
The celebration was indeed a reflection of a life well-lived — in service to God, to her family, and to her community.
According to her husband, Pastor Ezekiel Adebayo, their friendship blossomed into love — “two plus two became four, and eventually one plus one became one.” Since then, he said, she has been more than a wife: she has been his friend, mother, sister, companion, confidant, soulmate, and his “immeasurable queen.
During the celebration, Pastor Olapade Timothy of CAC Ore Ofe District delivered an inspiring message of exhortation, reminding guests of the importance of godly living. Pastor Oluwasaye John of CAC Ogo Oluwa District followed with a heartfelt prayer for the celebrant, her family, and all present — praying for continued grace, divine health, and a life that remains rapture-ready.
The occasion was filled with joy, gift presentations, and heartfelt tributes as guests dined and rejoiced in an atmosphere of thanksgiving and celebration.
