Armed bandits have invaded Igbesi community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting the traditional ruler, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, the Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land, alongside other residents.
The attack occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, when the assailants stormed the community.
A local source said the monarch and other victims were taken to an unknown location.
The incident occurred amid reports of multiple kidnapping attacks across parts of Kwara State within the past 24 hours, raising fresh concerns over insecurity in the state.
The exact number of victims abducted remains unclear as of the time of filing this report.
