Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly killed a 300-level student of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, and abducted five other persons in separate attacks in Edo State.
The incidents were said to have occurred on Friday, July 10, and Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Idoa and Ekpoma communities, respectively.

In the latest attack on Sunday night, a student of Ambrose Alli University, whose identity had yet to be confirmed as of the time of filing this report, was reportedly abducted after gunmen stormed his residence in Ekpoma.
A woman was also said to have been kidnapped during the same operation, while other victims were forcefully taken away by the attackers to an unknown destination.
Residents said the attacks have heightened fear across the affected communities, with many calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
