Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The governor made the announcement during a ceremony at the Government House in Port Harcourt, where he received his APC membership card from party chairman, Chief Tony Okocha.
Governor Fubara’s Reasons:
– To support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election efforts
– To foster a strong working relationship between Rivers State and the federal government
– To ensure the stability and development of Rivers State
Governor Fubara’s Pledge:
– To strengthen the APC in the state
– To provide total support to the party’s structure, members, and executives
– To keep the APC active and fully functional in Rivers State
The governor described his decision as a “spiritual assignment,” emphasizing the need for political alignment and support for the President’s agenda.
