Dairy industry leader FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria has convened a high-level regulatory parley at the Chief Oludolapo Ibukun Akinkugbe Academy in Lagos, bringing together key regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and senior management to discuss compliance, operational priorities, and strategies to strengthen collaboration within the dairy sector.
The engagement focused on improving regulatory relationships, enhancing consumer protection, and maintaining high standards of compliance and product quality across Nigeria’s dairy industry.
In a statement, the company’s Managing Director, Roger Adou, said the discussions reinforced the importance of continuous engagement with regulators in building a resilient and sustainable dairy ecosystem.
“Our deliberations underscored the need for continuous engagement with regulatory bodies in building a resilient and reliable ecosystem. The parley once again reinforced our commitment to excellence, transparency, and compliance. We recognize that success depends on strong partnerships with regulators and external stakeholders who share our vision of a safe, sustainable, and thriving dairy sector,” he said.
Adou added that close collaboration ensures products meet global quality standards while delivering essential nutrition to Nigerian consumers.
The company’s Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Ore Famurewa, also noted that engagement with regulators remains vital to achieving long-term success and public trust in the sector.
“By fostering open communication and collaboration, we can deliver nutritious products that contribute meaningfully to the well-being of communities across Nigeria,” she said.
Similarly, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Adebukola Akanmu, emphasized that compliance goes beyond meeting standards, describing it as a continuous process of engagement and improvement.
She noted that the discussions highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in strengthening the integrity of Nigeria’s dairy industry while promoting innovation, growth, and consumer confidence.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment by stakeholders to deepen collaboration, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and support sustainable development and innovation within the dairy sector.
