FirstBank Nigeria will host and sponsor the West Africa International Banking Dialogue & Awards Gala 2026 in Lagos on October 14, bringing together banking executives, regulators and policymakers to discuss the future of financial services across the region.
FirstBank, one of West Africa’s leading financial institutions, has announced plans to host and sponsor the West Africa International Banking Dialogue & Awards Gala 2026, scheduled for October 14 in Lagos.
The event is expected to bring together banking leaders, regulators, policymakers, industry experts and other stakeholders to examine emerging trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the financial services sector across West Africa.
Key areas of discussion will include digital transformation, financial inclusion, regulatory developments, sustainable finance and regional economic integration.
The dialogue is expected to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and explore innovative approaches to improving banking services and supporting economic development across the region.
The event will also highlight FirstBank’s commitment to customer value, innovation and support for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The bank recently received recognition from The Asian Banker as Best Retail Bank in Nigeria, Best SME Bank in Nigeria and Best SME Bank in Africa.
According to FirstBank, its recognition as Best Retail Bank in Nigeria in 2025 marked the ninth time it had received the honour. The bank has also earned recognition for its support for SMEs in Nigeria and across Africa in consecutive years.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Group, said the gathering would provide an opportunity for industry leaders to discuss issues that will shape the future of banking in West Africa.
