The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has presented a brand-new Toyota Camry to Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the Principal of Community High School, Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area, following her rescue from kidnappers.
According to a report by Nigerian Tribune published on Monday, July 13, 2026, the vehicle was presented during a brief ceremony attended by the member representing Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi.
Photographs shared by Ibadan-based Yes FM captured the symbolic presentation of the vehicle to the school principal, whose courage and resilience have attracted widespread public sympathy since her release.
Mrs. Alamu is currently receiving medical treatment at the Military Hospital in Ibadan after regaining her freedom alongside other teachers and pupils abducted during coordinated attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
The donation came days after an emotional video of the principal emerged online, showing the heartbreaking moments immediately after her rescue.
In the footage, a visibly distressed Mrs. Alamu repeatedly asked security personnel about the safety of her husband and the whereabouts of her vehicle, underscoring the emotional and psychological toll of the kidnapping ordeal.
Security personnel reassured her that her husband was safe and comforted her as she struggled to process the traumatic experience.
The abduction of the principal, teachers and pupils sparked nationwide concern over the safety of schools, particularly in rural communities, and renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect students and education workers from criminal attacks.
The presentation of the vehicle has been widely viewed as humanitarian support for the rescued principal and a symbolic recognition of the sacrifices made by educators working under increasingly difficult security conditions.

Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli’s generous gesture towards Mrs. Rachael Alamu deserves commendation. It is a compassionate response to a woman who endured a deeply traumatic kidnapping experience and is an example of support for victims of violent crime.
However, while celebrating this act of kindness, it is important to remember that Mrs. Alamu was not the only victim.
The other teachers and pupils who were abducted also endured harrowing experiences. Reports indicate that some of the male teachers were severely beaten by their captors and continue to battle physical injuries and emotional trauma.
The children, too, may carry the psychological scars of the ordeal for years to come.
The Daily Torch Media therefore appeals to the Oyo State Government, the Federal Government, corporate organisations, philanthropists and well-meaning Nigerians to extend similar support to all those affected by the abduction.
They deserve access to quality medical care, trauma counselling, rehabilitation and financial assistance to aid their recovery and reintegration.
No victim of such a horrific experience should be forgotten. Compassion and support should reach every teacher and every child whose lives were disrupted by this unfortunate incident.
