Three young men suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities have been arrested in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to reports from residents, the suspects were apprehended following an alleged confrontation with security operatives in the area.
Eyewitnesses said the young men were intercepted during a security operation carried out in response to growing concerns over criminal activities within the community.
Sources within the community also claimed that the suspects are not of Fulani origin, contrary to the widespread assumption that kidnapping incidents in the region are often linked to Fulani herders.
The suspects reportedly confessed that they are from Agbor and Umunede communities in Delta State.
Security agencies have since commenced investigations to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in kidnapping operations and to uncover any possible links to other criminal networks operating within and around the area.
